Buxbaum Group Fight Night

No, it wasn’t the Sharks and the Jets. It was real and it was better.

Celebrity guests included Arnold Schwarzenegger, William Shatner and Sugar Ray Leonard, the latter of which produced the evening’s boxing matches at The Marconi Automotive Museum, in Tustin, California, which exhibits some of the rarest and finest Ferraris in the world (see www.marconimuseum.org). The event occurred on Saturday, March 8th, and was a smashing success.

Four professional boxing matches and two kick-boxing matches were the highlight of the packed event. We had 500 guests, which was a sold out crowd, and very unique silent and live auctions that helped raise a tremendous sum of money. The ticket prices ranged from $300 to $1000 per person.

The event raised $220,000 -- double the net proceeds over last year -- and made the recipients, The Marconi Foundation for Kids and Drug Use is Life Abuse, very happy. Bulgari donated two watches for the event’s “Man of the Year” award given to Mike Carona, sheriff of Orange County. Sherriff Carona is on the Presidential Homeland Security Council and worked with Arnold Schwarzenegger on the State Initiative for after-school programs for children.

This event has resulted in our own entry into the Guinness Book of Records, and we actually broke our own record again this year with the sale of a 9 week old Golden Retriever puppy that auctioned for $25,000, compared with last year’s $22,500.
